Reiki Master

Reiki is a Japanese word translated as "Universal Life Energy" by Hawayo Takata. I received my Reiki Master training in the 1990's from Dr. Jo Davis in the Kansas City Missouri area (Blue Springs). We are in the direct lineage of Mrs. Takata. Mrs. Takata brought Reiki from Japan to the West in 1938. Until 1982, Reiki was an oral tradition in the West with no written record of its history of teachings.

Reiki is a therapy often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient's body to facilitate the patient's process of healing. Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of "rei" (spiritual or supernatural) and "ki" (vital energy).

One of the greatest Reiki healing health benefits is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body's natural healing abilities (immune system), aids in better sleep and improves and maintains health. Reiki also balances the mind and emotions. Provides homeostasis or balance in the body.

The goal / intent of all wholistic therapies is to balance the body & allow it to heal itself thereby defeating dis-ease whether the cause be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

I may perform a traditional Reiki session, but more than likely, this will be a unique session depending on your needs at the time of the session. This may be a guided meditation, a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual session. I look forward to assisting you on this journey. Weather permitting, you may select this service in the Meditation Garden.

There is much written about this and different styles or forms of Reiki.
